Re: Belaying while Pregnant
My wife and I just had our first child 4 months ago When she was pregnant, I just toned it down. You are technically supposed to completely stop lead-climbing and lead-belaying, but we rolled the dice. I didn't lead-climb anything where I thought I might fall, and I didn't push myself into any situa...

Re: Break-In at the Lode - 9/28/2011
Sorry for the delayed response, I was actually out rock climbing instead of trolling a message board. But I'm glad you all had a good time playing Mad Libs with my description, hopefully that made your day 0.001% more amusing. Maybe my description was too vague, so let me boil down a few facts about...

Re: Break-In at the Lode - 9/28/2011
I was leaving the PMRP around 3:15-3:25pm on 9/28/11 and noticed a really suspicious looking couple (man & woman, mid 30's to early 40's, white). They were walking down the gravel road, between Philz Snack Shack and the top of the Lode hill parking spots. The woman was in front and she smiled an...

Storage units near The Red
I tried a search but couldn't find a relevant topic, my question is: Does anyone have experience and/or recommendations for storage facilities near The Red? I'm planning on spending the fall in Kentucky before moving out west, and I need a place to store some non-climbing possessions that I'll be ta...

Re: The road to Sore Heel...
It's still pretty bad, but it's passable for cars with clearance. The road to the Motherlode lot is in fair shape, but from the Lode to the Drive-by lot was pretty rutted and muddy as of last weekend (5/1/11). I wouldn't recommend it without clearance, the ruts are pretty deep and in certain spots t...

Re: How best to Send?
I think each method has its place, depending on how your day is going, if you're feeling strong that day, what route you're gonna try, etc. Sometimes it's nice to get beta so you have a better chance of sending on your first go (i.e. flashing) but overall I think it's more respect to onsight. The mo...
