Re: Most Heartbreaking Route
Spent two months working a route at my limit in China, probably tried it over 25 times, and fell at the same move almost 20 of those times. The one time I finally moved past the last crux, my feet slipped and I failed again (insert rage and screaming). Eventually it got too hot and it wasn't possibl...

Re: Finger Fucked
Going to an ortho couldn't hurt, but I would be wary of anything they want to do. Orthopedists are surgeons, and therefore their solution is almost always just that--surgery, which, obviously, is not always the best option. At the same time, it never hurts to receive a formal diagnosis. I would avoi...

Re: Frothing Mouth Liberals
I don't see how you can blame Obama for higher oil prices, he doesn't control them, OPEC does. You can say all you want about expanding domestic drilling, but the reality is that it's not a sustainable solution and it wouldn't amount to much of a reduction in gas prices. The US still enjoys relative...

Re: GoPro first person climbing videos
I definitely think there is potential for Gopros and climbing. But, I think it would be best if mixed with different angle from other cameras, on two different goes so that you don't see the camera on their head while they're climbing from other angles. Sure, it's not the "real" send, but ...

Wrist Injury
Ok, so I have done a lot of research on what might be "wrong" with my wrist but I can't seem to find anything conclusive. To preface, about 4 years ago I badly sprained my wrist while skateboarding. At the time, I wasn't really climbing at all. Being younger and stupid, I kept working, did...

Re: The Best of the Best 5.12's (all grades)
Demon seed absolutely NEEDS to be on your tick list of 12s. In fact, it should be the first 12 you gun for because it's incredible.
Weather!
Any opinions from winter climbing veterans on the possibility of the Lode being dry on Wednesday when it's 46 and sunny?

When horrible things like this happen, it really puts climbing into perspective. My girlfriend and I were climbing on that exact section of Kaymoor less than two weeks ago and my condolences go out to all the family and friends, as well as anyone else who was vicariously involved. I'm in the same bo...

Using the gri gri with less than a 10.
I'm just wondering what kind of opinion people have about using a gri gri with a rope smaller than 10mm. I have heard a lot of people say a 9.8 is totally legit, and that some people have even climbed with a 9.2 and a gri gri. I'm just wondering what the consensus is; is petzl just covering their as...

A couple months ago, I was climbing at The Gallery and me and my buddy were working break the scene. These two guys came up who said they were staying at the red for a couple weeks. The first guy leads up calm like a bomb and hangdogs at literally every clip, then goes in direct after the 3rd or 4th...
