Lost Flannel at Left Flank - beneath Table
Hey folks,
I lost my grey Patagonia flannel at Left Flank a few days back. I left it on the rock beneath Table. I came back the next day - Friday, January 8 and it was gone. If you have it, please let me know. I'd love it back.
Thanks,
Andy

Re: iPhone Found in Coal Bank (Solar, Darkside, etc.)
Hey - that's mine. It fell out of my camera bag yesterday morning when I was shooting some photos. There's a bunch of cracks on the back and photo of my dog on the home screen. How do I get this back? We are at Land of the Arches today - moving over to Lago tonight. We have a white fiberglass egg tr...

Re: Someone dropped at the Lode....again
Then you need to ask yourself...have you ever given a compromised belay for even a second? . To answer your question,no. If someone gets dropped, its the belayers fault. Own it. (you sound suspiciously like a belayer who dropped his climber and who is trying to "bargain" his way out of th...

Re: Someone dropped at the Lode....again
So what should people do when accidents like this occur? It seems like some people would agree that mistakes happen. It seems like there's always details that can be handled better. The climber could have mentioned he was dynoing, for instance. The belayer could have made sure he could see the climb...

Re: Someone dropped at the Lode....again
I hear you - again, all I'm saying is their thumb technique is a good way to avoid grasping the entire device. It seems like a good way to prevent someone from locking their hand down in surprise when a fall happens. As to Petzl's inconsistency in their video to manual information, that IS weird an...

Re: Someone dropped at the Lode....again
I'm not really speaking to that. I'm referring to how they use the grigri.

Re: Someone dropped at the Lode....again
No, you're right. It was shoddy for sure and he deserved to be called out as such. It was definitely shitty belaying and he should have been standing where he could see the guy and where he was at on the route.
The two techniques Petzl recommends:

Re: Someone dropped at the Lode....again
The climber was on Bohica as I was to getting my shoes on next to his route.I was facing out the cave not looking at the belayer and what he was doing with the GriGri. I remember I was sitting on the ground putting my shoes on when I see the climber fall into my view, his plummeting stopped a little...
