On Dec. 22, a retention wall at a coal plant broke, spilling more than 100 million gallons of coal cumbustion waste into the surrounding area, including residential homes and rivers. The Tennessee Valley Authority operates the coal plant and should have taken better precautions to prevent an acciden...

or, playing music can be addictive and is a good way to be useful. I agree--I sit down to play the piano, and entire hours disappear in a second! I would pick a more portable instrument, though. I can't tell you how many times I've been chilling around a fire with climbing friends, wishing I could ...

Here's an odd bit of info: according to this guy Dan Buettner, who wrote The Blue Zones: Lessons for Living Longer from the People Who Lived the Longest , you'll live longer if you 20% less food at every meal. Also, excessive exercise is NOT a predictor for longevity, but moderate exercise combined ...

I recently gave a climber a hard catch by request and he almost hurt himself on a roof. If he did get hurt I could tell myself it was his fault but I was the more experienced climber and had a better view of the situation and therefor should have acted accordingly. I once gave someone a hard catch ...

JR, If you're refering to the kneebar at the big rest, then yes, I've tried it but found other resting positions more comfortable. . .I think my knees are too fat for that knee bar.. . Wes, I was on it yesterday, and there is a double draw before the crux still. If these are yours or Tania's, THANK ...

Tissue Tiger Beta, please
I've got the beta nailed for lower part of the crux section on Tissue Tiger, but I'm having trouble finding the proper feet for the right hand cross over to the India hold. Right now I have a high step with my right foot on the what used to be the first righthand crimp and I'm flagging my left foot....
