Re: The 10 Climbing Personalities

I climb with a "sport climbing elitist" who will definitely NOT stick clip anything, no matter how dangerous the first bolt. According to him, climbing from the ground up AND clipping every bolt is the only true "send". Needless to say, I get him to put all the QDs up for me. I'v...

Re: New rule

My favorite line is "Woulda onsighted (or RP'd) if I didn't fall!" Ahhh....the times I've used that wonderful wonderful line!

Hey, if you are going to climb with all the aggro-sheen rock jocks, you've got to get your jargon right, you gumby! Now, go traverse over to a climbing "dictionary" and onsight flash some terms. Or better yet, speaking of panties, you pink-point them!

The steep stuff shouldn't be downgraded, but maybe the vertical stuff & some trad should be upgraded. Here's two examples: Out For Justice - 11b is butt hard Where Lizards Dare 9+ trad is harder than some 5.11 sport routes I've done. Just my opinion. Also, I agree that ratings get all the attent...

Yeah, parking your front-wheeler is definately recommended when going to Drive-by and/or Oil Crack. I've gotten my Subaru Impreza up to Drive By before with no bottoming out, but I scraped the bottom all the way back down. Next time, it's parking at the bottom for me.

Ok, more beta, that I can remember. The 3rd bolt isn't technically hard, it's just hard hard. Clip low, from the holds below the bolt. Clipping right at the bolt is very difficult and not to be attempted by sane people. As far as the upper, are you talking about the last bolt? Again, not technically...
