...climbing 200+ days a year... try harder... by traveling both these roads, you can do relatively hard things without dedicated training. lol i choose to live in an area where i can work and climb full time. i realize not everybody has that luxury (made the sacrifice) i take relatively menial jobs...

I'm talking out of my ass here, but take a survey of 5.14 climbers who also have full-time jobs, and see how many of them reached that level by "just climbing a lot." I'd be willing to guess it would be approximately zero. i dont train apart from maybe 100 pushups a week, hangboarding les...

Malice and Demon Seed are among the best 12c's ive done anywhere. I dont usually give that compliment to many RRG routes....

i think it has more to do with how ready your body is to put stress on it over an extended period of time. a 25 year old with little athletic background would be "older" in this case than someone in their thirties who had been climbing for years. but for the sake of an argument, i think an...

I think that a certain amount of genetic predisposition kicks in somewhere in the 13s. No matter the amount of training, someone with a natural barrel chest and a -5 ape index will never climb 5.14 Just an example. Tim Deroehn has climbed 514. he is small of stature with T-Rex arms...
