That would explain why some of those earlier posts seemed less than sincere. Anyway I'll see you guys in the Muir valley in the Red River Gorge climbing area tomorrow.

I did find somebody to ride down with me who is alright with learning how to lead belay. If you are heading to Muir on Saturday maybe we'll see you (assuming I can find it of course!).

That must be what they refer to as southern hospitality, Mr Littleboxes, thank you.

So the Red River Gorge area is not closed this weekend, right? There's not any info on hte the ky.gov web site, but they don't have any route info, topos, etc. there anyway so I'm not too surprised.

dip I appreciate the heads up, that would save me a trip. Where did you hear it was closed? I guess I need to start there if I am to stay up on this kind of thing. Hey, they should post that kind of thing on this site! Free advice to admin.

Muir Valley is what they renamed Yosemite Valley last year. John Muirs grandchildren fought to get the name changed and eventually want to name it John Muir National Park... so Muir Valley is not in the Gorge. Miguel usually hangs out in the tunnel... near the middle. JB, I think we're both right. ...
