Potrero...Wow, amazing place. I was there from mid Nov - early Dec 2005. All the info so far has been pretty good. I would also recommend sunglasses, if nobody mentioned so far. Out of the three weeks I was there, I only saw clouds in the sky maybe 2 days, and it only rained once. Also, if you climb...

Normally I'd be on board with the vitamin I preperation, but I just got back from a quick road trip where I bouldered pretty hard 8 out of 10 days. I took motrin every day before I started climbing. When I got back, after not taking motrin for about 48 hours, suprise suprise....my fingers started hu...

Not to interrupt the thread jack in progress, but I have the same things and I've only been climbing for a few years. In my case, it's very minor it's only really noticable in my middle and ring fingers, but I can already tell that my fingers are starting to turn towards each other, if you know what...

Something else to think about is how much you were eating/drinking through the day while you were climbing. I've gotten on routes on lead and had a fairly easy time with them and after eating/drinking too little over the next couple hours I've gotten back on them on TR and flailed because I felt so ...

I own it and I've done a lot of bouldering at the New. The guidebook is excellent considering that only about 10% of the bouldering potential at the New has been developed. The bouldering there is excellent if you know where to look. Anybody who says it sucks has probably only been to hawks nest in ...

I guess this may be extreme for some, but you could always have a policy like LRC in Chattanooga. It's a bouldering spot on a golf course, and in order to get in you have to sign up on the internet the morning of and print out a pass to get in. They also only allow a limited number of people to clim...

Well, my apologies if I came off like an ass then. I think I was about 3-4 cups of coffee into a 14 hour workshift...makes me a little irritable.

Wow, I've never had a post so misunderstood. Maybe I need to go back to English 101. besides feeling left out and/or not privileged are you selfish enough to have the stance of, "well, if i can't be there, no one else should" In actuality, I ended the post by saying that if locals wanted t...

That's a possible suggestion, but I think you'll probably end up with a locals only crag in the end. I don't know how other people feel, but I don't really feel that I need a babysitter to go climb a few routes after I've driven 8 hours and paid a 2.00 donation already. If someone "sponsoring&q...
