Re: deep water soloing 2009

Doogievlg is on it. Just be careful out there. Check the areas you are climbing over for shallow rocks. The water is still up a bit. There is also some taller stuff up Craig's Creek, but the stretch between Grove Marina and Holly Bay Marina will keep ya busy for awhile.

Re: rock castle bouldering

Re: Laurel Lake Don't bother. Due to record breaking rainfall all the good stuff is under water. Typically everything will be underwater from around April to July, but this year is a different story. Hopefully the water will recede before spring rains and there will be some Laurel bouldering to be ...

Re: climber decks, kills dog?

From IDratherCLIMB: "If By witnessed you mean fleeing the scene so fast you left a trail of smoke behind you glancing over your shoulder just long enough to capture a mental image of something you can blog about? Then yes you were." Really? The climber decked less than 20' from where I was...

Re: climber decks, kills dog?

I was belaying a climber on Tissue Tiger when this accident happened. I was with my wife, daughter, friend and his daughter. We were not with the with the climber who fell. There were 7-8 other people around the base of the twelve wall not including us. It was my impression that they were all togeth...

Re: Rockcastle River Deep Water Solo

A group of us were soloing/jumping off a fairly high (30'-40') cliff a couple weekends ago and the man cruised right by without stopping. There's also a few notorious cliff ...

Re: Rockcastle River Deep Water Solo

If you're looking for DWS drive on down to Laurel Lake. Gather a crew, rent a pontoon and explore the rock between Grove Marina and Holly Bay. Tons of great stuff. Plus the water is currently pretty low so the climbing is even taller.

No kidd'n bcombs. Wouldn't want to show that you're proud of your daughter for her accomplishments. Being proud is a smile, a great job, a high five, a hug. I know all about them, I give them to my son all the time. I hear you. Different strokes I guess. My reactions to my daughter are pretty emoti...
